Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of the Peninsula in California seeks a Youth Program Leader (Bilingual: English/Spanish) to guide a classroom of TK-8 students after school, delivering engaging lessons and coordinating activities at multiple sites including Daly City, East Palo Alto, Menlo Park, Redwood City, San Mateo, or South San Francisco.

This part-time, hourly role offers professional growth, requires Spanish fluency, and emphasizes safe, supportive learning environments with strong family and school

Qualifications

• Commitment to BGCP’s mission and vision and working with TK-8 youth.
• Experience building relationships with diverse youth communities and constituents.
• Ability to motivate through positive reinforcement.
• Strong communication skills.
• Flexible in navigating a fast-paced environment.
• Preferred one year of experience working with TK-8 youth.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Spanish fluency is required.

Responsibilities

• Manage a classroom of approximately 10-20 students per 1 staff
• Provide academic mentoring and homework assistance
• Lead students through academic activities
• Adapt lesson plans for delivering enrichment classes and clubs (art, cooking, STEM, fitness, etc.)
• Conduct life skills and team-building activities
• Communicate with parents/guardians, school staff, and BGCP leadership
• Engage in weekly check-ins and participate in staff meetings
• Maintain a positive, safe, productive work environment
• Participate in supporting special events and field trips
• Attend training and professional development opportunities
