Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of the Coastal Plain in Goldsboro, NC is seeking a Tutor to support 1st–5th grade students with homework and supplement activities during after-school programs.

You will prepare review materials, implement engaging literacy and math activities, and help track attendance while collaborating with staff and families. Strong communication and teamwork are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication with facilitation and leadership skills.
• Knowledge of math, literacy, science and related subjects for members.
• Experience in early literacy instruction is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop individualized lesson plans following the program format for assigned students.
• Tutor 4 times per week, 3 hours per day, and implement tutoring programs.
• Complete reports and academic data documentation for K-5 Club members.
• Create engaging after-school literacy games/activities with staff.
• Provide guidance to youth in educational programs and maintain a safe environment.
• Build positive relationships with youth, volunteers, parents, schools and the community.
• Track daily attendance and perform program administrative duties.
• Attend programs and events coordinated by Boys & Girls Clubs of the Coastal Plain.
