Job summary

YMCA seeks an after-school program counselor to lead children in before- and after-school settings under the direction of the site supervisor. You will build relationships with families, coordinate activities, and ensure safety and program quality at the site.

The role requires strong communication, teamwork, and reliability. Flexibility with hours and reliable transportation are preferred to support early morning and afternoon shifts across school days.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to apply proactive team management techniques and employ conflict resolution.
• Must be a team player with reliable transportation and flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Lead children in before- and after-school settings following YMCA guidelines.
• Build relationships with staff, students, and parents; encourage parent involvement.
• Maintain records (attendance, forms, etc.) and assist with monthly reports.
