Job summary

Rocky Mount Family YMCA Inc is seeking a part-time Before/After School Counselor to support a school-age program under the Youth & Family Director. The role emphasizes supervision, safety, and positive behavior management in a welcoming YMCA environment.

The position requires at least 1 year of program experience, strong customer service and communication skills, and the ability to participate in scheduled activities and trainings.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 years’ experience in program area.
• Demonstrated ability to provide and role model quality customer service, and effectively evaluate other staff.
• Demonstrated organization and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and ensure the safety and behavior management of assigned students.
• Maintain accurate attendance and program records.
• Implement and support scheduled activities and games, including arts and crafts and physical activities.
• Follow North Carolina Childcare Licensing Standards and safety protocols.
• Communicate schedule conflicts to supervisor and participate in staff meetings and trainings.
