Job summary

Genesee Lake School in Wisconsin is seeking an Admissions & Respite Specialist to assess needs, coordinate admissions, and manage the Respite program. You will serve as the primary contact for prospective students, families, referral sources, funders, and other stakeholders throughout inquiry, admission, and service delivery processes.

Responsibilities include gathering information, interviewing students, coordinating funding and transportation, and ensuring eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or Human Services required.
• 2 years of previous work experience in a human services field or education required.
• Proficient in Word and Excel required.
• Previous experience working in databases preferred.
• Excellent critical thinking and assessment skills, problem-solving skills, verbal and written communication skills, and strong customer service skills required.
• Familiarity with state regulatory requirements (e.g., DCF 52, DHS 83) and agency policies preferred.
• Must be organized, reliable, and able to work independently while coordinating with multiple team members.
• Must have some flexibility in schedule.

Responsibilities

• Responds to inquiries regarding Genesee Lake School residential, day school, and Respite services by phone, email, fax, and social media.
• Serves as a primary point of contact for prospective students and Respite participants, families, and stakeholders throughout the processes.
• Gathers and assesses information to determine service and placement fit, including IEPs and records.
• Enters referral information into client databases.
• Conducts on-site or virtual visits to interview and observe students.
• Interviews stakeholders to gather information and compare with referrals.
• Attends Admissions Meetings, presents summaries, and makes admission recommendations.
• Monitors transfers, discharges, and the admissions wait list with the team.
