VOALA is seeking an Academic Tutor to supervise and deliver after-school tutoring in subjects like Math, English and Science. The role emphasizes individual and small-group support, homework help, and enrichment activities to boost academic and social development.

The tutor will design lessons, lead workshops on college planning, and coordinate daily tutoring sessions on-site in Los Angeles. Requires onboarding clearance and a commitment to serving vulnerable populations.

Qualifications

• Experience tutoring or related educational support.
• Ability to develop lesson plans aligned with standards.
• Strong written and verbal communication with students and staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead academic tutoring sessions to help participants master material.
• Coordinate daily homework assistance and tutoring program.
• Develop lesson plans in line with California Content Standards.
• Assist in creating learning activities and department objectives.
• Maintain tutoring logs and monthly reports.
• Monitor use of tutoring resources during sessions.
• Prepare classroom materials and setup daily activities.
• Keep records and communicate progress to staff.
