Job summary

LEARN Academy seeks a Behavior Interventionist to support students with special needs in a play-based ABA program. You will help develop academic, daily living, social, and motor skills through structured activities and data-driven instruction.

Requirements include a high school diploma and 1–2 years of relevant experience. The role is full-time for 10 months with potential ESY and summer scheduling; benefits and tuition assistance are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children with moderate to severe disabilities in a special needs educational setting.
• Experience using crisis management interventions and therapeutic holds.
• Ability to collaborate and receive feedback from peers and supervisors.
• Demonstrated professional/personal boundaries and clinical perspective in challenging student behaviors.
• Willingness to learn about ABA and disability categories.

Responsibilities

• Work with students in a Functional Academic Communication Social Skills (FACSS) classroom.
• Provide direct instructional support using ABA therapy.
• Support social-emotional, adaptive behavior, social-skill, and life-skill development, including toileting.
• Collect data on student progress as directed by teaching/clinical team.
• Reinforce academic behaviors taught by certified staff and provide practice opportunities.
• Assist students in community, school, and leisure activities under supervision.
• Implement district-approved verbal de-escalation techniques and safe physical restraint with training.
• Perform related duties as assigned by administration and staff.
