Job summary

Learn Academy is seeking a Behavior Interventionist to support students with special needs using applied behavior analysis (ABA) in a FACSS classroom. You will deliver direct instructional support, foster social-emotional and life-skill development, and collect progress data under supervision.

Entry pay starts at $19 per hour with performance-based increases, plus comprehensive benefits and retirement plans. The role is full-time with 10-month school terms and potential ESY/summer scheduling.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
• 1-2 years’ experience working with children with moderate to severe disabilities in a special needs educational setting, including experience with toileting.
• Ability to collaborate and receive feedback, mentoring, and direction from peers and supervisors.
• Demonstrated experience maintaining a professional and clinical perspective, with the ability to not internalize or personalize (e.g., emotionally) regarding student behaviors.
• Demonstrated experience using crisis management interventions (including therapeutic holds).

Responsibilities

• Work with students with moderate to severe special needs in a FACSS classroom.
• Provide direct instructional support using ABA therapy.
• Offer structured support in social-emotional, adaptive, social-skill, and life skills development, including toileting.
• Collect data on student progress toward goals/objectives.
• Reinforce academic behaviors and provide practice opportunities.
• Assist students in community, recreational, school, and leisure activities.
• Implement district-approved de-escalation techniques and safe physical restraint; training provided.
• Perform other duties as assigned by administration and staff.
