Job summary

Learn Academy, formerly Beach Cities Learning, seeks a Behavior Interventionist to support students with special needs using ABA within a FACSS classroom. You will directly instructional support and data-tracking under the guidance of certified staff.

The role emphasizes collaboration, professional boundaries, and safety techniques; full-time with 10-month schedule and potential ESY/summer opportunities. Benefits included.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
• 1-2 years’ experience with children with moderate to severe disabilities in a special needs setting.
• Ability to collaborate and receive feedback from peers and supervisors.
• Professional/clinical perspective; maintain boundary between student behaviors and personal response.
• Experience using crisis management interventions, including therapeutic holds.

Responsibilities

• Work with students with moderate to severe needs in a FACSS classroom.
• Provide direct instructional support using ABA therapy.
• Support social-emotional, adaptive behavior, and life skills including toileting.
• Collect data on student progress as directed by the teaching/clinical team.
• Reinforce academic behaviors and offer practice opportunities.
• Assist students in community, school, and leisure activities under supervision.
• Apply district-approved de-escalation and safe restraint techniques; training provided.
