Job summary

Lake Dallas Independent School District is seeking a dedicated 2nd grade teacher for the assigned campus in Lake Dallas, Texas. The position requires a Bachelor's degree and a valid Texas teaching certificate, with DOI-related endorsements as applicable.

The teacher will plan, instruct, assess, and collaborate with staff to support student growth and school goals. The role reports to the Principal, is full-time, and follows the district's curriculum and policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university is required.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with endorsements or related training for certification waivers under the District of Innovation Plan (DOI).
• Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with district curriculum and show evidence of preparation.
• Plan and use instructional strategies and materials that reflect diverse learning styles and TEA guidelines.
• Conduct formal and informal assessments to monitor student learning and adjust instruction.
• Collaborate with special education staff to modify curricula per IEPs.
• Plan and assign work to instructional aides and volunteers, and supervise their completion.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and manage student behavior.
