Job summary

Barr Foundation in Boston seeks a Learning Officer to guide evaluation and learning across its Learning & Evaluation and Sector Effectiveness programs. You will work with program teams to track impact, synthesize insights, and translate lessons into practice for greater philanthropic effect.

The role leads grantmaking coordination, collaborates with external partners, and helps design evaluation practices that improve program outcomes and sector knowledge.

Qualifications

• At least five years of experience in evaluation or applied research.
• Experience with foundations, nonprofits, or the public sector.
• Strong communication and facilitation skills.

Responsibilities

• Support program teams in designing and implementing evaluations and applying learning from those efforts.
• Engage with and manage a portfolio of grants with leading regional and national social sector infrastructure organizations.
• Synthesize learning from internal and external efforts, and translate lessons into practice at Barr.
• Collaborate with the Director of Learning and Evaluation and program teams to share Foundation learning with grantees and the broader field.
• Organize meetings and convenings of field experts to share best practices and encourage collaboration.
