Job summary

The Program Manager / Victim Advocate at Gang Alternative, Inc. oversees daily implementation of Project SHINE and provides trauma-informed advocacy and case management to Broward County children and youth ages 0–17 who have experienced crime victimization.

The position staffs referrals, outreach, partner coordination, and progress toward grant deliverables, with services offered at GA’s Lauderdale Lakes office, in the community, and via approved virtual platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (Masters preferred) from an accredited college or University in criminal justice, behavioral health, social work, psychology, education, or a related field.
• Experience implementing evidenced-based programs and administering federally funded grants.
• Knowledge of Youth Mental Health First Aid, behavioral health systems, trauma informed care, project management, grant compliance, and data reporting.
• Demonstration of a non-stigmatizing attitude towards mental illness.
• Excellent time management, facilitation, and public speaking skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; proficiency in Word and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and management for Project SMART Broward.
• Supervise project staff and contracted Mental Health First Aid instructors.
• Coordinate implementation of Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) and teen MHFA training.
• Ensure fidelity to curricula and instructor requirements.
• Develop and maintain partnerships with schools and community stakeholders.
• Coordinate participant recruitment and training logistics.
• Monitor project implementation, performance measures, and quality improvements.
• Oversee participant referral and follow-up processes.
• Review data collection activities and reporting.
• Prepare required SAMHSA reports and maintain project documentation.
