Job summary

Northern Forest Center is seeking a Donor and Investor Relations Officer to mobilize philanthropic and investment capital and advance the organization’s five-year strategic vision across Maine, New Hampshire, and Greater Boston. The role emphasizes building a portfolio of high-capacity donors and investment partners, managing events, and developing stewardship plans.

The DIRO will conduct 100+ visits annually, collaborate with leadership and volunteers, and work across fundraising programs

Qualifications

• 5–7+ years progressive experience building and managing high-value relationships that result in significant financial commitments, investments, partnerships, or business growth.
• Experience in philanthropy, investor relations, wealth management, banking, community or economic development finance, or related field.
• Familiarity with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) and donor engagement best practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 Suite; working knowledge of Asana project management software (or equivalent).
• Ability to travel frequently across the assigned region, with occasional travel across the Northern Forest region and to regional or national events.

Responsibilities

• Donor and Investor Relations responsibilities (75%): build and manage a portfolio of high-capacity donors and investors; develop and maintain a robust pipeline; identify, qualify and engage new prospects; conduct 100+ visits annually; develop stewardship plans; assist in planning donor and investor events.
• Strategy and Campaign Leadership responsibilities (15%): collaborate to develop strategy and messaging for impact investment funds and campaigns; customize reports and proposals; drive capitalization of funds and lead capital campaigns.
• Administrative responsibilities (10%): develop donor materials; utilize CRM analytics and AI-enabled tools; contribute to team reports; use Asana for collaboration; participate in meetings and special projects.
