Job summary

Peoria Park District is seeking a grant-focused financial professional to manage budgets, monitor expenditures, and ensure compliance with donor and funder requirements.

The role involves preparing financial and outcome reports, coordinating with multiple departments, and supporting grant applications to secure multi-year funding. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required; extensive experience may substitute.
• Two to three years of grant management, grant accounting, or nonprofit/government financial reporting experience preferred.
• Ability to interpret grant agreements, restrictions and reporting requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop grant budgets; monitor reviews, expenditures, cash flow and spending rates; forecast funding needs.
• Review grant/donor funding agreements and ensure compliance with reporting requirements and deadlines.
• Coordinate collection and analysis of financial and program data and prepare timely financial and impact reports.
• Maintain complete records for assigned grants and donor-funded projects including documentation and deadlines.
• Assist with preparation of grant applications and funding proposals including budgets and narratives.
• Collaborate with Finance, Advancement, program staff to ensure proper expenditure and reporting of funds.
• Prepare schedules and documentation for district grant audits and IRS Form 990 preparation.
• Develop systems and relationships to improve grant administration and reporting.
• Foster collaboration across departments and external partners to support funding efforts.
• Follow safety procedures and support park district safety programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
