Job summary

Americans United for Separation of Church and State in Washington, DC, is seeking fall and spring legal interns committed to civil rights, impact litigation, and First Amendment protections. Both part-time and full-time positions are available.

Interns will assist with ongoing litigation, conduct legal research and writing, draft demand letters, and may draft pleadings and discovery. Remote work is available nationwide with some in-person opportunities in our DC office.

Qualifications

• Law students (any year) who are committed to advancing the public interest and the separation of religion and government are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal and factual research and writing for ongoing litigation.
• Draft demand letters to resolve constitutional violations without filing suit.
• Draft pleadings, briefs, or discovery.
