Job summary

City of Boise seeks an Impact Fee Coordinator to serve as a key technical resource within Planning and Development Services. This role reviews development activity, determines impact fee requirements, calculates and verifies fees, and helps developers, contractors, applicants and City staff navigate complex fee and permitting questions.

The position also leads permitting support, improves processes and customer guidance, and contributes to impact fee studies and related planning efforts.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Six years of office experience and familiarity with construction processes.
  • Ability to obtain ICC Permit Technician certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Review development activity to determine impact fee requirements and ensure fees are applied correctly throughout the permitting process.
  • Serve as the primary resource for applicants, contractors, developers, residents and City staff regarding impact fee assessments, fee applicability, payment requirements, and related processes.
  • Coordinate complex impact fee matters with appropriate staff and partner departments.
  • Support impact fee studies, CIP updates, and advisory committee materials with fee data and process context.
  • Provide backup permitting support, process building and related permits, and perform technical reviews to verify submittal completeness.
