Job summary

Kinder+DeBauche is a San Antonio-based, full-service fundraising consulting firm seeking a Grant Writing Consultant to join our team. You will drive grant proposals, research, and client-focused fundraising strategies across sectors, with on-site facilitation and occasional travel.

Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of grant writing experience and strong relationship-building, communication, and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of professional grant writing experience.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and large projects simultaneously.
• Demonstrated success in grant writing.
• Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with all levels of staff, volunteers, donors, and prospective donors.
• Self-directed work style with the ability to manage deadlines, priorities, and multiple client engagements.
• Strong relationship-building abilities and leadership qualities, with a talent for mobilizing others toward shared goals.
• Critical thinking, creative problem-solving, and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with fundraising best practices, donor pipelines, and philanthropic trends.
• Proficiency with fundraising databases and willingness to learn new databases and systems.
• Willingness to travel for on-site client support, including multi-day engagements.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Principals and the Grants/Development Lead Strategist on grant proposals for clients across sectors.
• Plan, coordinate, write, and edit grant proposals and supporting materials in collaboration with Kinder+DeBauche staff.
• Craft well-researched grant proposals tailored to funding requirements and client needs.
• Conduct grant research based on client focus areas.
• Maintain grant tracking tools for internal project management and client-facing applications.
• Attend grant client calls and project status meetings.
• Support nonprofit event production as needed (luncheons, galas, etc.).
• Perform other duties as assigned based on client needs.
