Job summary

Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services in New Orleans seeks a Child Support Enforcement Specialist. This professional position administers the CSE program within DCFS, enforcing policies to ensure parents provide financial and medical support for their children.

You will manage high-complex caseloads, train staff, coordinate with judges and district attorneys, and ensure compliance with laws and directives. A degree and experience in child support enforcement are required.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in child support enforcement, or equivalent substitution.
• Bachelor's degree plus two years of experience in child support enforcement.
• Master's degree plus one year of experience in child support enforcement.
• Ability to interpret policy and apply laws.

Responsibilities

• Completes and processes new applications/cases while maintaining a caseload of high complexity.
• Interprets and applies CSE policy and federal and state laws and regulations.
• Reports to Child Support Enforcement Supervisor and serves as an assistant to that position.
• Trains, coaches, and mentors all levels of Social Services Analysts (SSA).
• Interprets program policies for SSAs to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, directives, and agency policies.
• Provides policy training to CSE staff via WebEx or classroom sessions as needed.
• Works closely with judges, court personnel, district attorneys, and the sheriffs to better provide services to families.
• Performs other duties as assigned for the smooth operation of the Department.
