MITRE, a nonprofit engineering and research organization, offers a data science internship in the System Engineering Analytics Department. You will work with data professionals to develop analytics pipelines and visualizations, supporting government sponsor decisions.

Responsibilities include transforming challenges into analytical questions, preparing datasets, and developing statistical models while communicating findings to diverse audiences.

Qualifications

• Sustained excellence in academic performance.
• Must be a student enrolled full-time in an accredited degree-seeking program in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, or a related field, and continue to be enrolled full-time the semester following the internship.
• Familiarity with Python or R demonstrated through coursework or projects.
• Familiarity with data preparation, basic statistical analysis, and data visualization through coursework or projects.
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI U.S Government issued Security Clearance; U.S. citizen.

Responsabilités

• Help translate government sponsor challenges into analytical questions and testable hypotheses with guidance from experienced data scientists.
• Prepare, clean, combine, and analyze datasets to support end-to-end data analytic pipelines.
• Assist with developing, testing, and evaluating statistical and machine learning models for real-world problems.
• Create visualizations and dashboards that communicate analytical findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Collaborate with technical teams to document methods, code, and results and contribute to project reports and presentation.
