Job summary

MITRE is seeking a Data Scientist to join the Systems Engineering Analytics Department. The role focuses on applying analytics to government challenges, building end-to-end data pipelines, and delivering actionable insights for U.S. government sponsors.

The candidate will combine systems engineering with data analytics, learn from seasoned professionals, and have opportunities to impact national security and public-interest projects while working on-site at least three days per week.

Qualifications

• Typically requires less than 1 year of related experience with a related Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
• Must be a U.S. citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance
• Demonstrated ability to manipulate large datasets
• Experience with analytic tools such as Python, SAS, MATLAB, JavaScript, R, Java
• Data Visualization tools such as Tableau, QuickSight, PowerBI, etc.
• Ability to formulate complex algorithms and process to solve complex data problems
• Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, and Word
• Must have demonstrated proficiency and strength in verbal, written, PC, presentation, and communications skills
• This position requires a minimum of 3 days a week on-site.

• Work with a spectrum of government sponsors to gain understanding of their challenges, evaluate possible solutions and conduct insightful, actionable analyses.
• Support the development and application of a variety of analytical models to sponsor challenges, with a willingness to adapt and learn.
• Present results in an intuitive, actionable manner that can be understood by all sponsor audiences, regardless of technical expertise.
