Job summary

The University of Arizona in Downtown Phoenix invites applications for a Research Technician IV in the CAMI program to help develop novel T cell–based cancer therapies under a Principal Scientist. Qualifications

  • HS diploma or high school diploma equivalency required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Experience with animal handling and mouse colony maintenance.
  • Experience with molecular biology (PCR, cloning, DNA preparation) and biochemical assays (protein purification, Western blots, ELISA).
  • Experience with flow cytometry.
  • Experience with mammalian cell tissue culture and mouse handling.
  • Experience with basic lab protocols.
  • Experience in complying with laboratory safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design, execution, and analysis of complex experiments under supervision.
  • Analyze, curate, and organize scientific data and records.
  • Routine maintenance, calibration, preparation, and operation of complex laboratory instruments.
  • Follow and maintain detailed protocols, instrument documentation, and troubleshoot issues.
  • Perform routine laboratory procedures including molecular biology, biochemical assays, and sterile tissue culture.
  • Maintain detailed notebooks of experimental design, setup, calculations and execution.
  • Collect, organize, and perform basic experimental data analysis under supervision.
  • Assist with acquisition of lab supplies and maintenance of lab inventories.
  • Mouse colony management including animal handling, care, records, and breeding.
  • Assist with animal experiments and data acquisition; follow UAC procedures.
  • Follow lab safety protocols and waste disposal procedures.
  • Train colleagues in operation of equipment, instruments, and techniques.
