Job summary

CSL Behring is seeking a Senior Director of Immunology Translational & Clinical Research. The role is based in Waltham, MA or Melbourne, Australia, and is hybrid with on-site presence three days a week.

You will embed with the research team to translate mechanistic data into clinical strategies and lead immunology portfolio decisions from ideation through early clinical development. You will partner with discovery, translational medicine, clinical development, and business development to advance

Qualifications

• MD/DO with clinical rheumatology experience; neuroimmunology/dermatology acceptable.
• Hands-on bench-to-bedside translational experience translating preclinical data into clinical strategy.
• Experience in drug development within biotech, pharmaceutical, or academic settings.
• Proven track record in evaluating preclinical and clinical assets and supporting BD due diligence and TPP drafting.

Responsibilities

• Act as hands-on clinical SME for immunology disease areas, preferring rheumatology.
• Translate mechanistic understanding into actionable hypotheses and target identification strategies.
• Prioritize targets and build clinical development plans; partner with discovery teams.
• Lead target/asset evaluation and contribute to IND-enabling studies and early clinical design.
• Collaborate with BD, regulatory, and translational medicine teams to shape program strategy.
