Job summary

UW Medicine’s Department of Laboratory Medicine & Pathology in Seattle invites applications for a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) Trainee/1 in the Immunology Laboratory at the Renton Central Laboratory. The role supports autoantibody testing, electrophoresis, IFA, ELISA, and QA/QC in a busy clinical setting.

The MLS Trainee progresses through accredited training, performs automated and manual assays, maintains instruments, participates in quality improvement, and contributes to patient care

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory science or equivalent.
Eligibility to sit for ASCP certification within 18 months of hire.
Experience with automated and manual immunology testing preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform clinical lab tests for screening, diagnosing and treating conditions.
Operate immunology instruments and analyze QC data per SOPs.
Troubleshoot instrument issues and coordinate with technical support.
Enter data into LIS and participate in quality improvement activities.
