Job summary

Labcorp seeks a Medical Technologist I to join the Immunology team in Indianapolis, IN. The role follows a Monday–Friday 8:00 am–4:30 pm schedule and focuses on specimen testing, instrument maintenance, and quality control to deliver accurate patient results.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s in a chemical or biological science or a MLS degree, with 1 year of lab testing experience. ASCP/AMT certification is preferred; 2+ years preferred for advanced applicants.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
• 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience OR an MLS degree.
• 2+ years of clinical laboratory testing experience (preferred).
• ASCP or AMT certification (preferred).
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS).
• Ability to work in a high-volume laboratory environment and independently as well as in a team.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to support patient care.
• Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear PPE.
