National Jewish Health is seeking an Assistant Director for the Immunology Laboratory on the main campus in Denver. The role involves ensuring quality and regulatory compliance (CAP/CLIA/GLP), overseeing daily lab operations, and guiding assay development and validation activities with senior leadership.

You will collaborate across laboratory, business development, and client teams to design studies, troubleshoot QC issues, and report findings.

Qualifications

• PhD in scientific discipline.
• A minimum of five years in a laboratory setting with an increasing scope of expertise.
• Expected to take board certification examination (ABB) within 2 years of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Maintains CAP/CLIA/GLP quality and regulatory standards in collaboration with the Quality Director.
• Oversees day-to-day lab operations, metrics dashboards, and quality reporting.
• Leads proficiency testing analysis in collaboration with the Director until transition of responsibilities.
• Consults on assay and study design with clients when applicable.
• Reviews QC parameters and investigates out-of-control run issues with lab staff and Sr. scientists.
