Job summary

Texas A&M University’s International Student and Scholar Services is seeking an Immigration Specialist I to support immigration services for F-1/J-1 students and scholars. You will process requests, advise clients, and maintain confidential records in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires office-based work, occasional travel, and the ability to lift documents as part of records retention. A Bachelor’s degree and one year of related experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher and 1+ year of immigration services or related experience.
• Experience working in higher education and advising international students.
• Experience with immigration document processing and high-volume records management.

Responsibilities

• Process immigration documents and requests for international students and scholars.
• Serve as Designated School Official (DSO) and Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO).
• Maintain confidential records and ensure compliance with FERPA/HIPAA and regulations.
• Provide immigration advising via multiple channels (email, phone, in person).
• Participate in training to stay current with federal and university policies.
