Job summary

Texas A&M University’s International Student & Scholar Services seeks an Immigration Specialist I to deliver immigration processing and advising for F-1 and J-1 students, scholars, and dependents. The role supports robust office operations in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

The successful candidate will handle sensitive records, act as a DSO/ARO, and stay current on guidance from DHS and DOS, while providing excellent customer service on campus and with external partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• One year of Immigration Services or related experience.
• Experience with advising or supporting international students preferred.

Responsibilities

• Document processing and maintaining international records with FERPA and HIPAA considerations.
• Provide immigration advising via email, phone, and in person to students, scholars, and dependents.
• Serve as Designated School Official (DSO) and Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO).
• Stay current with federal, state, and university policies affecting immigration.
