Job summary

Catholic Charities Boston is seeking a Paralegal for its Immigration Legal Services program to support immigrant and refugee clients in MA. You will work under attorneys to manage a caseload, prepare applications, and ensure accurate filings with USCIS and the State Department.

The role emphasizes trauma-informed service, strong written and verbal communication, and attention to detail, with opportunities to grow in a mission-driven environment serving diverse communities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or associate degree with 3-5 years relevant experience.
• Experience with immigrant or refugee populations preferred.
• Trauma-informed care experience preferred.
• Strong writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage caseload of 35-50 clients under attorney supervision.
• Provide legal guidance to clients with attorney supervision.
• Meet with clients to conduct intake, prepare applications or petitions, and collect evidence or supporting documentation.
• File required paperwork with USCIS and/or State Department once an attorney has reviewed and approved the application.
• Conduct legal research as relevant or requested by attorneys.
• Provide support to attorneys on complex cases.
• Adhere to internal case management policies and procedures.
• Stay abreast of changes in immigration law and related directives.
• Perform administrative tasks and maintain accurate client records.
