Qualifications

  • Knowledge of USCIS forms, filings, and case management processes.

Responsibilities

  • Support attorneys with preparation, filing, and management of immigration matters.
  • Prepare and file nonimmigrant visa petitions (H-1B, H-2B, L-1A/L-1B, J-1, O-1, P-1, etc.).
  • Assist with extensions, status changes, and dependent filings (I-539).
  • Assist with permanent residence matters (PERM, EB-1 to EB-5).
  • Gather and organize documentation, draft letters, and track deadlines.
  • Communicate status with clients, foreign national employees, and government agencies.

Immigration Paralegal

A nationally recognized law firm is seeking an experienced Immigration Paralegal to join its Miami office. The ideal candidate will have significant experience supporting corporate immigration matters and managing a high-volume caseload with precision and attention to detail. This position requires exceptional organizational skills, strong client service abilities, and the ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

The position follows a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities:

  • Support attorneys with the preparation, filing, and management of employment-based and family-based immigration matters.
  • Prepare and file nonimmigrant visa petitions, including H-1B, H-2B, L-1A, L-1B, J-1, J-1 Waiver, O-1, P-1, and P-3 visas.
  • Assist with extensions, changes of status, and dependent family member filings, including Form I-539.
  • Assist with employment-based permanent residence matters, including PERM labor certifications and EB-1 through EB-5 petitions and applications.
  • Support citizenship and naturalization matters, including N-400 applications.
  • Gather, review, and organize supporting documentation and prepare forms, correspondence, and government filings.
  • Draft attorney support letters, petition letters, employer letters, and other substantive immigration correspondence for attorney review.
  • Manage case files and immigration databases, track deadlines, and ensure compliance with filing requirements.
  • Communicate with corporate clients, foreign national employees, family members, government agencies, and internal stakeholders regarding case status and documentation.
  • Provide ongoing support to clients and their families throughout the U.S. immigration process.

Qualifications:

  • 5 years of immigration paralegal experience required; 10 years preferred.
  • Substantial experience with employment-based immigration matters.
  • Experience preparing H-1B, H-2B, L-1A/L-1B, J-1, J-1 Waiver, P-1, P-3, and other employment-based visa petitions.
  • Experience with PERM labor certifications and EB-1 through EB-5 matters strongly preferred.
  • Experience with family-based immigration and citizenship/naturalization matters.
  • Ability to independently prepare drafts of petition letters, employer support letters, attorney support letters, and RFE responses.
  • Strong knowledge of USCIS filing requirements, immigration forms, and case management processes.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Spanish proficiency preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate preferred.
