Neuhauser Law, PLLC is seeking a detail-oriented, Spanish-speaking Immigration Paralegal to join our in-house Immigration Department in Danbury, CT. The role requires handling a high-volume caseload with strong organization and a solid understanding of immigration procedures.

The ideal candidate will be fluent in Spanish and English, experienced with USCIS forms and EOIR processes, and capable of supporting attorneys from filing to hearings. This is an in-person position at our Danbury office.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2–3 years of immigration law experience, including removal defense.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish (written and verbal).
  • Strong knowledge of USCIS forms, EOIR procedures, and immigration court processes.
  • Experience preparing filings for Immigration Court and related relief.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, assemble, and file immigration petitions and applications.
  • Family-based petitions and Adjustment of Status filings.
  • Removal Defense cases, including EOIR filings and related documentation.
  • Draft forms, cover letters, and supporting documents for attorney review.
  • Communicate with clients in Spanish and English to gather documentation and provide updates.
  • Maintain accurate case files and meet all deadlines.
  • Monitor case progress and respond to RFEs.
  • Communicate with USCIS, NVC, EOIR, and immigration courts.
  • Assist attorneys with case preparation, court filings, hearings, and strategy development.

Job description

We are seeking a detail oriented and experienced Spanish-Speaking Immigration Paralegal to join our Immigration Department. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of immigration law and procedures, including removal defense matters, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to manage a high-volume caseload in a fast-paced environment.

Please note: This is an in person position in our DANBURY CT office

Salary is based on experience

Key Responsibilitie
  • Prepare, assemble, and file a wide range of immigration petitions and applications, including
  • Family-based petition
  • Adjustment of Status application
  • VAWA petition
  • Employment-based immigration petition
  • Removal Defense cases, including EOIR filings and court-related documentatio
  • Draft immigration forms, cover letters, legal correspondence, motions, and supporting documentation for attorney review
  • Communicate with clients in Spanish and English to gather required documentation and provide case updates
  • Maintain accurate case files and ensure all deadlines are met
  • Monitor case progress and prepare responses to Requests for Evidence (RFEs)
  • Communicate with government agencies, including USCIS, NVC, EOIR, Immigration Courts, and other relevant entities
  • Assist attorneys with case preparation, court filings, hearing preparation, and case strategy development

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of immigration law experience required, including experience with Removal Defense case
  • Fluency in both Spanish and English (written and verbal)
  • Strong knowledge of USCIS forms, EOIR procedures, and immigration court processes
  • Experience preparing filings for Immigration Court, motions, applications for relief, and supporting evidence packet
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with immigration case management software is preferred
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience handling removal defense, asylum, cancellation of removal, waivers, and other forms of relief before Immigration Court
  • Familiarity with electronic filing systems, including ECAS and EOIR portals
  • Strong client-service orientation and professional demeanor
