Job summary

USC Gould School of Law is seeking a Project Director for the Los Angeles County Detained Immigrant Defense Bar Panel. You will administer the Bar Panel, vet applicants, conduct client intakes, place cases, and coordinate with clinic leadership and the Office of Immigrant Affairs.

You will supervise staff and report on case activity. The ideal candidate has a J.D., active California Bar license, 5+ years in immigration law, and fluency in Spanish, with strong management and independent-work

Qualifications

• J.D. degree and active California Bar admission required.
• Minimum 5 years of immigration law experience.
• Experience with removal and bond proceedings in immigration court.
• Strong management, organizational, and supervisory skills.
• Ability to work independently and fluently speak Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Administer the Bar Panel, including vetting applicants and intake.
• Place cases and provide guidance to Bar Panel members.
• Administer payments and monitor compliance with requirements.
• Supervise support staff and generate case-tracking reports.
• Coordinate with USC Gould Immigration Clinic co-directors and DCBA.
