Job summary

The Gould Immigration Clinic at USC Gould School of Law seeks a Project Director to administer a new Detained Immigrant Defense Bar Panel in Los Angeles County. You will vet applicants, conduct client intakes, place cases, and oversee payments while supervising staff and coordinating with the Office of Immigrant Affairs.

Ideal candidates hold a J.D., are admitted to the California Bar, have 5+ years of immigration practice, and fluent Spanish.

Qualifications

• J.D. degree and admission to and active California Bar license.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing immigration law.
• Experience representing clients in removal and bond proceedings in immigration court.
• Strong management and organizational skills, with staff supervision experience.
• Ability to work independently and fluently in Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Administer the Bar Panel and oversee vetting of applicants.
• Conduct client intakes and place cases with panel members.
• Provide technical assistance to Bar Panel members and manage payments.
• Monitor compliance with Bar Panel requirements and generate case reports.
• Supervise support staff assisting with these activities.
