Job Overview
A highly regarded immigration law firm is seeking a detail-oriented Immigration Attorney with a focus on legal analysis to join its team remotely. This position is ideal for an attorney with strong research and case assessment skills, particularly in reviewing immigration files obtained through FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) requests. The attorney will be responsible for identifying potential relief options based on client immigration history, determining case eligibility, and collaborating with legal staff to deliver strategic recommendations. The role supports high-volume file review and demands precision, efficiency, and a comprehensive understanding of U.S. immigration law.

Location

Duties

  1. Analyze FOIA files to identify immigration history, legal relief, and case type eligibility
  2. Conduct detailed screenings of client records to determine eligibility for immigration benefits
  3. Manage a high-volume caseload with attention to accuracy and deadlines
  4. Provide written legal analysis and strategic recommendations for internal case planning
  5. Collaborate with managing attorneys and legal assistants to complete thorough file reviews
  6. Maintain current knowledge of U.S. immigration laws, regulations, and procedures
  7. Organize and document case findings clearly for use by attorneys and clients
  8. Ensure all legal analysis meets professional standards and ethical guidelines

Requirements

  1. 3–5 years of experience practicing immigration law
  2. Experience with FOIA analysis and reviewing complex immigration records
  3. Proven ability to assess legal histories and recommend case strategy
  4. Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, deadline-driven setting
  5. Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred but not required)
  6. Excellent written communication and legal research skills
  7. Familiarity with family-based immigration, asylum, removal defense, and humanitarian relief

Education

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications

Active license to practice law in any U.S. jurisdiction
