Role Description
Salary Range $95,000-$140,000 depending on legal technical experience and Managerial capacity. This is a full-time on-site role for a Supervisory Attorney to oversee our USCIS and NVC practice areas. Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain own caseload of complex cases for ongoing legal development and review of staff complex cases (and in certain situations, co-counseling with staff attorney)
- Cover emergencies/complex matters wherever necessary and whenever directed to by managing attorney
-Lead the non-litigation departments to ensure compliance with all deadlines and that clients are being adequately represented
- Engage in client resolution whenever necessary and whenever requested by managing attorney and operations director
- Facilitate legal staff meetings when the managing attorney is not available
- Monitor substantive legal work and provide consult and advice to staff attorneys
- Provide guidance on legal and practical matters to all staff in their departments
- Other duties as assigned by the managing attorney
Requirements:
- Minimum five years of legal practice experience in immigration law
- Preferably bilingual (not required)
Qualifications
- Expertise in immigration law and immigration issues
- Experience in handling visa applications and affirmative relief application with USCIS including asylum law and waiver applucations.
- Knowledge of legal issues related to immigration
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Admission to the bar and license to practice law
- Fluency in Spanish is a plus
