Job Description

A full-service law firm with over 40 attorneys practicing in 11 offices throughout Central Florida. We are looking for an experienced immigration attorney to join our talented team and build our increasingly busy immigration practice. This role will interact with coworkers at all levels of our company, as well as with clients and foreign nationals.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Diligently prepare cases, legal strategies, and cover letters.
  • Develop an expert-level understanding of your client cases. This includes preparing immigrant/non-immigrant petitions with in-depth knowledge of the application process and requirements, specifically in EB1, EB2-NIW, PERM, I-485, L-1, H1B, O-1, or other non-immigrant visas.
  • Manage various projects and deadlines and prepare, and revise documents.
  • Be able to explain legal terminology to clients succinctly in a timely manner.
  • Research unique legal issues by identifying applicable statutes and judicial decisions.
  • Stay up-to-date on legislative changes that may affect immigration.
  • Develop solutions to complex legal questions.
  • Provide training to client companies and individuals on substantive legal topics and updates about new immigration laws and regulations.
  • Partner with colleagues to share information, resolve client issues, and support all client projects.
  • Regularly effectively communicate with clients and foreign nationals regarding procedural, case processing issues, and case strategy.
  • Supervise the work of paralegal staff in record keeping and document preparation to ensure no mistakes are made.
Requirements, Competencies and Certifications:
  • You must have a JD and a valid license in any U.S. state to practice law.
  • Excellent English writing skills.
  • At least 2 years of employment-based immigration experience.
  • A passion for immigration law and a true desire to work with clients on employment-based nonimmigrant and immigrant petitions.
  • Superb verbal and written communication skills; English grammar must be excellent.
  • Excellent organizational skills and detail-orientation, alongside the ability to effectively multi-task in a fast-paced, high-volume law firm setting.
  • Ability to independently work on daily tasks, proactively and with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Ability to always positively contribute to a work environment.
Minimum Education & Preferred Experience: Education Requirements:
  • You must have a JD and be a member of good standing of the Florida Bar.
Preferred Experience:
  • Bilingual, Spanish speaking;
  • Ability to multi-task and work with a sense of urgency in a dynamic fast paced environment.
