Job summary

Confidential, a well-established legal practice in Lower Manhattan, seeks an experienced Immigration Attorney with 5–7 years of immigration law experience to join our team.

The ideal candidate will manage a diverse caseload, handle family-based immigration and removal defense, draft briefs and motions, and work collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals and staff while maintaining client communication.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice in New York.
• 5-7 years of substantive immigration law experience.
• Experience with family-based immigration and removal defense.
• Strong writing, research, and advocacy skills.
• Highly organized with ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Spanish proficiency is a plus.

A well-established legal practice in Lower Manhattan is seeking an experienced Immigration Attorney with 5-7 years of immigration law experience to join our team. The ideal candidate is a strong advocate who is committed to providing high-quality legal representation and has experience handling both family-based immigration matters and removal defense.

This role is well suited for an attorney who can independently manage a caseload while collaborating effectively with attorneys, paralegals, and administrative support staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Represent clients in immigration court proceedings and at USCIS interviews
• Manage family-based immigration and removal defense matters
• Draft briefs, motions, appeals, and other legal filings
• Conduct legal research, case analysis, and case strategy development
• Manage an individual caseload while working collaboratively with the firm's support team
• Maintain clear and timely communication with clients regarding their cases
• Stay current on changes to immigration laws, policies, procedures, and agency guidance

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
• Active license and admission to practice law in NEW YORK ONLY.
• 5-7 years of substantive immigration law experience
• Experience with family-based immigration and removal defense
• Strong legal writing, research, analytical, and advocacy skills
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines
• Ability to work independently with limited oversight
• Comfortable navigating legal research platforms, including Westlaw and LexisNexis
• Spanish proficiency is a plus, but not required

We are looking for an attorney who takes ownership of their cases, provides thoughtful and compassionate representation to clients, and works well as part of a collaborative legal team.

Compensation:

$130,000 - $150,000/year, commensurate with experience
