Role Description

The Immigration Attorney role is a full-time, on-site position based in Charlotte, NC. The attorney will manage a caseload involving family-based petitions, employment visas, removal defense, asylum, naturalization, and other immigration matters. Daily responsibilities include meeting with clients, assessing legal options, preparing and filing petitions and applications with USCIS and other agencies, drafting briefs and legal correspondence, and representing clients at hearings and interviews. The role also involves maintaining detailed case records, staying current on changes in immigration law and policy, collaborating with support staff, and contributing to a client-centered, multilingual practice. The attorney is expected to uphold high professional and ethical standards while providing clear, compassionate guidance to clients.


Qualifications


  • Strong knowledge of Immigration Law and Immigration Issues relevant to U.S. federal practice.

  • Experience advising on and preparing applications for Visas and other Immigration benefits.

  • Ability to analyze complex Legal Issues and develop effective strategies for immigration cases.

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active bar membership in any U.S. state; eligibility to practice immigration law nationwide.

  • Prior experience (internship, clinic, or practice) in immigration law or related public interest work preferred.

  • Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills, with attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.

  • Commitment to serving diverse communities; proficiency in Spanish or Arabic is highly beneficial.

  • Ability to work on-site in Charlotte, NC, manage a busy caseload, and collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
