Job summary

University of Utah Simulation Center is seeking a Simulation Tech Specialist to support healthcare simulation technologies and methodologies across campus. You will prepare, run, and maintain simulations using manikins, VR, standardized patients, and AV systems, while assisting students and faculty.

This role requires independent operation of equipment, strong troubleshooting, teamwork, and the ability to manage time in a dynamic learning environment; occasional lifting and flexible hours may

Qualifications

• Three years' experience in information technology, medical technology, medical simulation, or related fields.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalency preferred (one year education can substitute two years experience).
• Ability to absorb technical details quickly and work in a team or independently.

Responsibilities

• Set up simulation events including equipment, manikins, moulage, programming, video, debriefing audio-visual, and medication dispensing units.
• Provide first-line technical support for multimedia systems and equipment used in simulation.
• Clean-up and reset simulation rooms, restock supplies, and maintain cleanliness of all surfaces.
• Support facilitators with multimedia systems and operation of equipment, restocking, and turnover between scenarios.
• Attend and contribute to regular team meetings and complete assigned projects within timelines.
• Demonstrate professionalism, punctuality, compliance training, and appropriate dress code.
• Work environment includes lifting up to 50 lbs with assistance and some office work.
