Job summary

Odyssey Charter School seeks an Elementary School Teacher for Grades K-5 to join our Greek Language School community. The ideal candidate is passionate about immersion education, supports a diverse student population, and promotes Greek language and culture while delivering high-quality instruction.

This 10-month role requires a Delaware teaching license, experience in immersion or foreign language settings, and collaboration with families and colleagues to implement research-based instructions

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Delaware Teaching License and Certificate in required content area as per 14 Del. C. § 1531.
• Praxis II exams completed.
• Proficient in English, written and spoken.
• Immersion/foreign language teaching experience preferred in Elementary grades.
• 5th Grade teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality instruction integrating Greek language and content areas for elementary students.
• Implement language immersion strategies and differentiate instruction to meet diverse needs.
• Plan lessons and maintain documentation aligned with standards and immersion goals.
• Collaborate with partner teachers to co-plan and transfer content between languages.
• Communicate progress to families and involve them as learning partners.
• Create a safe, inclusive classroom culture with clear expectations and routines.
• Assess student progress using multiple tools and maintain records for reports.
• Integrate Greek culture and heritage into daily instruction.
• Demonstrate ongoing professional growth in language immersion practices.
