Job summary

Odyssey Charter School in Delaware is seeking a dedicated Elementary School Teacher for grades 3-5 to join our Greek Language School community. The ideal candidate will promote Greek language and culture through immersive instruction and collaborate with families and colleagues.

The role requires implementing research-based instructional practices for second-language acquisition, differentiating instruction, and creating an inclusive classroom that supports diverse learners and a positive school

Qualifications

• Valid, active Delaware teaching license and content-area certificate.
• Praxis II exams successfully completed.
• Proficient in English, written and spoken.
• Experience in elementary grades in immersion or foreign language programs preferred.
• 5th grade teaching experience preferred.
• Experience teaching diverse learners.
• Global citizenship and collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality instruction integrating Greek language and content areas.
• Implement language immersion strategies aligned with second-language acquisition.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse academic and linguistic needs.
• Plan and implement a program of study reflecting standards and immersion goals.
• Prepare lesson plans and document instructional planning.
• Collaborate with partner teachers and families to co-plan lessons.
• Build relationships with families through clear communication.
• Participate in team meetings and school-wide initiatives.
• Create a safe, inclusive, and culturally responsive classroom.
• Establish clear expectations for student behavior and foster a positive culture.
• Manage classroom routines and procedures effectively.
