Job summary

Odyssey Charter School is seeking an Elementary ELA Teacher for an English immersion program. The 10-month position reports to the Principal, Immersion School, and follows the Odyssey salary schedule for teachers in a charter setting.

Qualified candidates hold an active Delaware teaching license with Praxis II, and have strong English proficiency and experience in immersion or diverse classrooms. Responsibilities include planning, collaboration, assessment, and family communication.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active Delaware Teaching License and Certificate in the required content area.
• Praxis II exams completed.
• Proficient in English language, both written and spoken.
• Experience teaching in immersion or foreign language programs preferred.
• Experience teaching diverse learners.

Responsibilities

• Teach ELA and Social Studies to elementary students.
• Collaborate with partner teachers, staff, and parents.
• Engage in differentiated instruction and thorough lesson planning.
• Plan a program of study meeting student needs and abilities.
• Maintain classroom records, assessments, and communication with families.
