Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education is required; a Master’s Degree is preferred.
• Alaska Teacher Certificate is required.
• Three years of experience in education is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain competency in subject matter areas of certification and assignment.
• Employ appropriate methods of assessment to identify student proficiency levels and plan programs using achievement data.
• Strive for harmonious interpersonal relationships with students, parents, and staff.
• Promote and support NSBSD goals as defined in the Strategic Plan.
• Develop awareness of local culture and provide bicultural/multicultural instruction.
• Use Rubicon Atlas for culture-based unit development.
• Supervise and train instructional paraprofessionals as needed.
• Abide by ethical and professional teaching standards.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Education

Master’s Degree preferred

Alaska Teacher Certificate

Three years of experience preferred
