Job summary

Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory, NC, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Intermediate Medical Care Unit (IMCU) on a full-time night shift. The IMCU is a 12-bed unit that provides close monitoring and specialized nursing care with a collaborative, team‑oriented culture.

The role emphasizes high-acuity patient care, with self-scheduling and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Current state RN license required in NC.
• Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
• Active BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS certifications within six months of hire.
• One year of acute hospital RN experience required.
• IMCU experience: 1–2 years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments
