Idaho Falls Community Hospital in Idaho Falls is seeking a Certified Nurse Assistant to join our care team. You will assist patients with activities of daily living and provide basic nursing care under the supervision of the RN in charge.

The role emphasizes compassionate communication, safety, accurate documentation, and teamwork with the interdisciplinary staff to ensure timely meals, vital signs, and comfortable patient care.

Formación

• Education/Certification: High school graduate or equivalent.
• Successful completion of a certified nursing assistant program.
• Current, unencumbered CNA certification.
• Current BLS

Responsabilidades

• Provides basic nursing care under the direction of the bedside RN.
• Assists with activities of daily living and meals as applicable.
• Completes documentation per policy (daily living activities, ambulation, meals).
• Gathers intake/output and communicates with bedside RN.
• Assists with hygiene needs (bathing, denture care, linen changes) under RN guidance.
• Notifies licensed personnel when pain, vitals, or input/output are outside normal ranges.
• Obtains and documents vital signs in patient chart as requested.
• Communicates changes in patient status to the RN and collaborates with the team.
• Maintains awareness of needs of pediatric, geriatric and general patient populations.
• Handles patients safely using proper body mechanics and gait belt for fall risk patients.

Provides basic nursing care that includes actions that meet psychosocial needs and communication needs within the nursing assistant’s scope of practice under the direction of the bedside RN.2. Ensures that patient’s needs are met at mealtimes and that patients receive their meals in a timely manner where applicable.3. Completes documentation as described per policy, such as daily living activities, ambulation, meals etc, and other tasks as assigned.4. Assists with gathering appropriate intake and output of patients and communicates with the bedside RN.5. Ensures that patient daily hygiene needs are met, i.e. bathing, brushing teeth, changing of bed linen, etc under the direction of the bedside RN.6. Performs basic patient care responsibilities considering needs specific to the standard of care for patient’s age.7. Notifies appropriate licensed personnel when patient complains of pain or vital signs or intake and output are less than or greater then acceptable ranges.8. Obtain and documents patient’s vital signs appropriately in the patient’s chart as requested by the bedside RN.9. Demonstrates ability to communicate to the RN any observed changes in patient status and responses. Maintains awareness of the needs of the pediatric, geriatric and general patient population.10.
