Job summary

Idaho Falls Community Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our nursing leadership team. This role provides supervisory coverage across departments, collaborates with physicians and unit managers, and ensures safe staffing and patient care in a busy hospital environment.

The ideal candidate has a graduate RN program, Idaho RN licensure, BLS, ACLS, PALS, and at least five years in acute care (ICU/ED) with supervisory experience preferred. Competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited RN program.
  • Current unencumbered RN licensure in Idaho.
  • BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications.
  • Minimum of 5 years in acute care, preferably ICU or ED.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient care requirements across all hospital departments and adjust staffing based on acuity and census.
  • Collaborate with physicians and unit leaders; assist with admission criteria and status assignments.
  • Ensure EMTALA compliance for referrals and transfers; maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Serve as a resource for staff in clinical problem-solving and safe staffing utilization.
  • Respond to Code Blue and Rapid Response Team events; communicate with leadership as needed.
  • Escalate significant incidents to department managers and administration promptly.

Idaho Falls Community Hospital is looking for a Registered Nurse to join our team!JOB SUMMARY: This position provides supervisory coverage for all department at Idaho Falls Community Hospital. Has general knowledge of hospital and nursing procedures and policies. Functions as clinical relationship between departments. Communicates directly with department nursing managers in their absence as well as with the administrator on call. Works with physicians and nursing staff with admission assignments, solving nursing issues and addresses patient or family concerns. Comprehends utilization rules and regulations. Evaluates needs during visits to all areas of the hospital. Communicates with unit leadership during rounding to assess the acuity of care required for patients. Implement safe staffing plans for shifts based on patient acuity, patient census and available staff.2. Assist physicians, access center nurse and staff in admission criteria for assigning admission status to patients.3. Verify Emergency Medical and Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA) compliance with referrals and transfers4. Maintains patient confidentiality5. Serves as a resource to staff in solving clinical problems. Helps staff to efficiently utilize staffing resources in order to meet patient care requirements. Provide support, guidance and feedback to staff.6. Responds as a member of the Code Blue and Rapid Response Team (RRT). Aids in other emergency situations. Acts as a resource in identifying and solving administrative and operational problems.7. Contacts department manager, directors, administrate personnel or administrator-on-call for assistance in problem solving in an appropriate and timely manner. Reports significant incidents or problems to the proper leadership such as:o Major utility damage and or outageso Physician concernso Unusual patient or family concerns/problemso Security problemso Fire, disaster, bomb threats or other matters of legal importanceo Safety Issueso Written descriptions about staff performance or concerns8. Ensures adherence to policies and procedures.9. Assist staff to provide a safe work environment for patient care. Follows established safety, infection control procedures and helps in safe practices.10. Adhere to dress code with appearance that is neat and clean.
