Job summary

Advocate Health Care is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform diagnostic radiography and ensure patient comfort and safety during procedures. The role requires adherence to ALARA, accurate patient identification, and thorough documentation of findings.

Qualified candidates will be graduates of an accredited Radiologic Technology program with ARRT certification or eligibility, and IEMA accreditation. Proficiency with RIS/PACS and the ability to work in a dynamic department are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
• IEMA Accreditation in Radiologic Technology
• ARRT (RT) Certification or Certificate Eligible. For new graduates, ARRT must be obtained within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Operate x-ray equipment to produce radiographs as ordered by a physician.
• Accountable for the performance and documentation of all diagnostic procedures utilizing proper technical parameters to produce quality studies.
• Maintain ALARA principles to minimize exposure to self, the patient and others.
• Verify patient identification and explain procedures to ensure understanding.
• Review radiographs to ensure optimum quality.
• Performs required computer function for RIS/HIS systems.
