Job summary

Siemens Healthineers seeks a Systems Engineer - Applied Physicist to lead system-level integration of the PET/CT image formation chain, from data acquisition to image quality, ensuring high-performance clinical images.

You will drive early testing, develop quantitative assessment methods, and translate emerging imaging technologies into practical product capabilities, partnering with Physics, Software, and Product teams globally.

Qualifications

• PhD or Masters in Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Medical Physics, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years experience in medical imaging (PET/CT, PET/MR, nuclear medicine, image formation/reconstruction).
• Strong foundation in medical imaging physics and quantitative image analysis.
• Experience with system-level testing, image quality evaluation, troubleshooting, or integration of complex imaging systems.
• Programming experience supporting scientific computing, data analysis, signal processing, or related applications.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally (<10%).

Responsibilities

• Own the system-level integration of the PET/CT image formation chain.
• Lead early system performance testing and troubleshooting across hardware, firmware, software, and imaging physics.
• Design and execute image quality and system performance testing with quantitative methods.
• Drive integration of new technologies into PET/CT products.
• Lead conception, realization, integration, and validation of new system functionality.
• Define system requirements, interfaces, and validation criteria for new functionality.
• Collaborate with Physics, Software, Hardware, Systems Engineering, Clinical, and Product Management teams.
• Investigate and resolve complex customer and field issues related to image quality and performance.
• Provide technical guidance to engineering teams and leadership.
• Mentor colleagues on imaging physics and system performance.
