Job description

Minimum qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  2. 2 years of experience working in an Imaging Systems technical environment, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.

Preferred qualifications:

  1. Experience developing or performing simulation products to map imaging requirements to KPIs for eye tracking, hand tracking, or head tracking.
  2. Experience performing proof of concept testing to define imaging requirements for waveguide and light projector technology for near eye display systems.
  3. Software development experience in a scripting language (e.g., MATLAB or Python).
  4. Knowledge of one or more of the following: Photo and video processing pipelines, ISP algorithms, multi-camera calibration, computational photography, computer vision, machine vision, illumination design.
  5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Lead development of imaging systems for Google's consumer hardware products.
  2. Research mobile imaging technologies.
  3. Perform simulation and testing to define imaging requirements for eye tracking, head tracking, and/or hand tracking.
  4. Investigate imaging experiences performance goals for multi-camera systems.
  5. Collaborate with our partners in System Product Development/Electrical Engineering, Camera Hardware, and Android Software team.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $126,000-$181,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
