Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Radiology Technician Assistant in Illinois for a part-time role. You will support imaging services, coordinate patient flow, and assist technologists, nurses, and physicians during exams.

The position is 40 hours per pay period, evening shift 3:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m., with alternating weekends and holidays. Requirements include a High School Diploma and CPR (BLS) certification. Prior healthcare experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• CPR Certification (BLS).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Previous healthcare delivery experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cares for the patient throughout the treatment/procedure according to department and hospital standards of care, age-specific sensitivities, and Patients' First guidelines.
• Provides systems support by preparing procedure rooms for patients prior to their arrival in the department and work area.
• Assists in preparing patient for exam/procedure, including the ability to explain exams and answer basic questions.
• Follows directions of technologist/nurse to assist in performing exam/procedure on patients.
• Processes CDs as needed. Participates in lifting and escorting patients and maintains lift equipment competencies.
• Helps to coordinate patient care based on departmental imaging protocols. Interacts with clinical staff to coordinate patient flow.
• Retrieves physician orders and ensures correct exam protocol; prepares all necessary paperwork.
