Job Description
- Functions as a resource for staff members, physicians, hospital employees, patients, and visitors.
- Assigns duties to appropriate staff members to ensure a smooth flow of the schedule and effective room turnover. Ensures completion of all work assignments prior to the end of the shift to support reduced length of stay initiatives. Evaluates the competency of assigned staff.
- Performs a variety of diagnostic radiographic procedures to ensure quality and continuity of patient care. Uses PACS as required and processes hard copy films when necessary.
- Identifies each patient and reviews each patient's requisition for consistency of the examination ordered with clinical diagnosis and demographic information. Records pertinent data on requisitions at all times.
- Assesses patient condition, ensures patient safety through proper radiation safety practices, and uses proper positioning devices.
